quick note:

as you get into alp D'Huez there is a false finishline outside the shops/cafes/bars. don't stop here!!!! you need to carry on under the bridge, swinging round to the left and then follow the little yellow cyclist signs. this takes you to the left of the resort and then cuts across the top where you turn left at a RAb to ge to the official finish. it's a big wide road with a carpark and the lower ski slopes to your right. this is where the TdF finishes.
