First crash of the year?

Is there an award for the first crash of the year?
I managed to find a patch of ice this morning and went straight down, landing on my hip which has now got a nice lump and is rather painful. The bike slid along a fair old way too but as it was on a nice smooth surface didn't come to any harm.
Seems I wasn't the only one as someone else at work hit the deck and another guy was forewarned when he saw someone else fall over in front of him (where I had probably about ten minutes earlier!)
Hopefully that's the end of it again

hit some black ice in botely this morning but managed to skate across it. Motorbike at wickham crossroads wasn't so lucky and came off but seemed OK.

I thought we'd done winter already...seems not.

glad you are relatively Ok Andy. TA don't seem to do too well when admitted to QA A&E!!!

Yep that frost caught me out too on the way to work - though I didn't hurt myself too badly, just a colourful buttock to show for it. Those lanes stay wet for days after the rain, and the frost turns them into an ice rink.
