Ventoux Accommodation - Please read and respond ASAP

Hi guys

Just a really quick message before I'm late for work...

Angie and I have been working hard to find accommodation for Ventoux. Ideally I think we want a gite rather than hotel so that we have a kitchen to be able to organise our own breakfasts and dinners etc. It has been quite difficult to find gites for more than 8 people or gites that will do long weekends rather than week to week.

However, I have had a response from Henri who has 3 gites in one compound. He is prepared to rent us 2 gites for the long weekend we require, which each sleep 6-8 people. Therefore we can take a maximum of 16 people to Ventoux if we go with this accommodation option. We currently have 15 going including 2 chaps from Angie's gym that would like to go. The following names are down as going:

G1, Tim, Mike, Angie, Tel, Me, Tony, Matt, Luke, HTT, Helly, Ghandi, Chris, Nigel and other Angie chap.

If you are NOT on this list but are definitely going let me know asap because if we are going with these gites we have ONE SPACE left.

I think this could be a good option especially given the price as it is looking at being at least 50% cheaper than the hotels we've found so far - the cost is under 15euros per person per night (there may be a little more cost for linen which I am looking into).

Here is the response, and the link to the website (sorry I'm usless at setting up the link so you can just click - you might have to copy and paste). Please look at the gites offered (i.e. Bergerie and the Ecurie) and tell me what you think asap as we need to get accommodation booked.

PS I have done a very rough costs estimate so far and have currently calculated that the weekend will cost approximate £140 per person plus food and spending money

We would be happy to receive you in our lodgings.

First of all, I only can propose for this period the Bergerie and the Ecurie (16 peop. max. with 6 bedrooms, 2 twin sofa-bed and 4 water-rooms).

The price for a 4 days/ 3 nights stay is: 300 + 350 Euros = 650 Euros.

Bedoin is around 24 km from our houses.

If it's to climb the Ventoux, our road is really nice for cycles.

And, if they want, there's a nice round from there: Veaux, Brantes, Sault, Ventoux, Malaucène, Veaux ... or the other way: Veaux, Malaucène, Ventoux, Sault, Brantes, Veaux.

Of course, if they want, they can also go by Bedoin...

had man flu for last week so have been underground somewhat but got time off for the thursday eve ventoux depart and will get back on me velo once the goo is off my chest (lovely eh..!!)

I'm in - well done looks really good, now we have a choice of where to start from - or maybe not, if there is a Mistral blowing and we start from Malaucene it will blow us straight up the first climb!!
