Results from TA PTTS 1
After a damp start, I think overall the 1st PTTS race went well. Thanks to all who played their parts on the course and behind the scenes. These events only work because of the effort of volunteers!
The results are now available HERE!
Looking forward to the next one!

Damp... Slightly understates it I think!! Well done to Luke for managing to hold those riders upright who were shivering so much from the cold and wet
Just as well I left when I did; I thought I'd build in some leeway in case I got a puncture and guess what... I didn't!
The chain snapped instead
Fixed it and got home in time, just somewhat oilier than anticipated.
Good job getting the results up Tim.

Re: Results from TA PTTS 1
Sorry to hear that Andy
Note warning to all DO NOT use shimano chains, if you do a search you will un-cover all sorts of horror stories, use anything just not shimano.
For a reasonably priced direct replacement try KNC I think, I'll check and edit the post tonight.
Mike snapped his chain last week and has done alot of damage, I think he has had to replace his rear mech and hanger, all down to the chain.

Yep, never use Shimano chains - but as well as KMC, you can also fit SRAM - which I do.
BTW Tony, have you seen the latest issue of Cycle Sport - which "delves into what looks like The demise of Campagnolo"?!? Only four pro teams now use campag, and they are being seen as a "heritage brand" - I think that means they not keeping up with the likes of SRAM!!

I'll probably see you tonight for an answer but just in case I forget to ask and sorry for being dumb but, how do I know if I have a Shimano chain. Tony, you fitted the one on my old bike so do you know what that one is but what about the new one?

Re: Results from TA PTTS 1
Only chain I`ve snapped was a shimano one, right in the middle of Cosham roundabout when I`d just pulled out on a horde of accelerating cars! Bit scary that I always use Campag or Sram chains these days and with the joining link what an easy way to keep them clean.
Angie, have a look on the chains side plates, if it is Shimano it will probably have HG stamped on them, or sometimes Shimano........I think.
