Member of another club seeks new club!
Hi All @ Team Axiom
I would like to remain adnom at the moment, but I'm currently with another club and I'm seeking to be a member of a cycling club that's offers good training for all levels to build to higher levels, team kit in stock when required and not a 3 month waiting time and social/ club run scene?? I think you may be the club I'm looking for? you seem a strong knit team at TT's helping each other before and after races and seem to have a good bond among your members. please can you tell me more in depth what you offer in training & social aspect of things.
Marco

Re: Member of another club seeks new club!
take it easy Marco (?) ! we had 3 teams in the national 3-up TTT the day you posted and with the rest of the team supporting we prob didn't peruse the forum on Sunday. Monday is pub night so again site traffic is usually low. Speaking of the pub why not come along next monday (fisherman's rest, Titchfield) from 8pm onwards to meet some of the team and see what we're about.

Marco
Glad to see you want to join our mighty club!! Here is a brief low down of what we are about (in case you can’t make it to the pub on Monday)
Club runs
We have a club run every Saturday in the winter, meeting at 0930 at Cosham library, this is usually fairly relaxed when the weather is crap, usually with the customary Café stop. The pace gets a bit quicker in spring when the sun is out! During the summer club runs are less frequent, this is because virtually every member of the club races, meaning they are either resting Saturday morning or spending time with the family!! However if you want to ride over the weekend a note on the forum will usually entice someone out.
Kit
We have recently taken on a new kit supplier, which is loads better (and cheaper) than our old one. Usually we send off an order a couple of times a year, but it is a case of when enough people want kit we will send an order through, it takes about a month from ordering to arrive. This will need to be confirmed with our kit man though. We have a good relationship with the suppliers so exceptions can be made to this, we have rushed kit through (I managed to get a skin suit through in about a week last year).
Training
Apart from the club runs, we have a yearly trip to Mallorca (dependant on volcanic ash), this is an ideal opportunity to add some quality training before the racing season begins. This year we also went to France to climb Ventoux (the three different ascents in a day – we don’t do things half arsed!!)
Apart from that lots of racing!! Mostly Time Trials but a few of us partake in the occasional road and circuit race.
Social
We don’t meet in a village hall and drink tea with digestives – instead we go to the pub!! We meet every Monday at a different pub to socialise and sort out any club business. As Luke said come along to The Fisherman’s Rest on Monday.
If I missed anything important, someone else can add it.
Hopefully see you soon (possibly in a Marco Pantani mask, so that your identity remains mysterious).

Hi Chris,
A very good appraisal of what we are about. I forgot how good this club is. I want to join again even though I am still a member of the Team.
One last thing to add.
Every year we hold a fantastic Awards night in Jan which is a really good bash and a time to let the hair down before the season starts again!!! eek
hope to see you soon
