Monday 17 October 2011 pub
We will be popping in to the Golden Eagle, Southsea to taste the landlords variety of J2O's.
I am attempting to change the map on the social page, at the moment the bike pin is at the Golden Eagle but the description still says the Wheatsheaf!!!
So try this one whilst I fiddle and shout at the computer

Other pubs
Blimey, well done fancy pants
Anyway, if new pubs are the order of the day, here are a few suggestions for the melting pot (or fermenting vat):
Fareham
Red Lion,
Golden Lion,
Crown ('Spoons, not sure, we may have been there)
Wickham
Wickham Wine Bar (possibly a bit small)
Wallington
White Horse,
Cob & Pen (Again, we have been to these but not for years)
Stubbington
Crofton
Emsworth
Blue Bell (possibly a bit foodie?)
Gosport/Lee
Wyvern,
Queens Hotel
Southsea
Eastney Tavern,
Marmion,
Leopold,
Northcote Hotel,
Barley Mow,
Apsley Arms
Portsmouth
Winchester Arms
...and on the subject of Winchester we could maybe go a lot further afield and go there as a one off (alternatively as a different night to the pub night). Was thinking beginning of December for a wander round the Xmas market (best in the area) and going up to the Black Boy (best pub there).

Hmm, a closet pub , I could have suggested the Old Vic for that; I guess that would be one pub that might appreciate lots of blokes turning up in lycra...

Well done Andy!
Is the Queen's Head still there?
Can recommend the Crofton stubbington - old haunt from school days - sorry pa, no of course I never was into underage drinking! Good for a bit of nosh too if you fancy it.
There is also the Golden bowler - but I have NEVER been there!
In Gosport there is the Alverbank and Anglesea Hotels but both could be foodie.
I have heard the Fighting Cocks is good - this IS a pub in Alverstoke not a comment on a night out with TA!
