TOB Sunday
For those of you not at the pub yesterday, it was suggested that we go and watch the TOB on Sunday as it is in our neighbourhood.
The general plan is to ride up, watch the race come through, then ride to Guildford for the finish.
I have just had a look at the route and I am thinking that the Cat 1 climb at Barhatch Road would be good.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Barhatch+Road,+Cranleigh&hl=en&ll=51.232258,-0.703125&spn=0.09201,0.21904&sll=51.160924,-0.467176&sspn=0.011613,0.01929&oq=barhatch+road&hnear=Barhatch+Rd,+Cranleigh,+Surrey+GU6,+United+Kingdom&t=m&z=11
According to the race manual the riders will arrive there between 1427 and 1456. The race will then arrive in Guildford approximately an hour later.

The cycle there looks easy enough. Meet in Cosham, ride to Petersfield via Buriton. A272 through Midhurst, then head north through Dunsfold.

According to Google it should be less than 50 miles, so two and a half to three hours should be more than achievable. It may be busy as it is the biggest climb of the day, so we should probably meet at around 0930 - 1000 to ensure we get a good spot. This should be a good ride up, however it does mean quite a big day in the saddle at a fair pace, so we could always meet people who do not want to ride either in Guildford or the at the climb.
Let me know your thoughts on the route and timings and whether or not you fancy riding or driving.

Good call Chris
S & I are up for cycling up to Guildford, but only if the weather is OK!
I had a quick look at the map and it looks like they head through Guildford twice, so hopefully we can see them on the country lanes and then the finish in the town centre. Should be a cracking day.

Re: TOB Sunday
As I am working in the morning and don't finish until 11.00 I will probably get the train up to Guildford if anyone wants to join me. We could then cycle out to Barhatch or find a nearby watering hole.
I plan to cycle to Havant and catch the 12.30ish train. Tickets are £14.00 don't know about bike cost.

Re: TOB Sunday
Ok Angie we will save you a spot.
Just to confirm for anyone not on the club ride this morning, the plan is to meet at 1000 at Cosham bibliotheque.
Weather forecast looks good at present.

Re: TOB Sunday
I'll be up there but the relaxed way: getting the train up, seeing them go through Guildford the first time, find a pub for lunch then get somewhere near the finish line (could be the tricky bit!).
