C 2 K update

Guys if you would like to see the route that myself Tony and Tommy will be taking for the mad ride we are doing in July take a look at this link http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2097137

We will head down to Cornwall on the Thursday 25 July and start the ride on the Friday morning of the 26th July we aim to be at Cosham for about 7 ish on the Saturday morning where we will meet up with the rest of the riders who will be dragging us along the last leg to Dover.
The total miles we will do is 380 with a mind blowing 25000 feet of climbing, the gang who meet us at Cosham and drag us along to Dover will be cycling 130 miles and climbing 6692.

So far it is Just myself Tony and Tommy doing the complete route, it would be great if we could get another 1 or 2 riders, i know Joe has said he may be up for it and also Chris, so how about it guys can you commit to this so i can start booking up Hotels vans and car hire.

Also Tim you said you may be up for it can you let me know if your in.

Like i say a couple more riders on the last leg would be great.
The plan is to stay over in Dover that night then head home on the sunday 28 th July, but of course if you didnt want
to stay over you could make your way home when the ride is over.

Hi Dave et al.

That looks pretty impressive to me, when Sarah Tim and I cycled to Plymouth a few years back we went over the top of Dartmoor, but that looks to be of a similar distance to your plan, the only other suggestion is not to go into Bognor Regis but to stay on the A27, we regularly race on those roads and they are fine to ride on.

I think we need to get together at some point with Tommy and go over the route together, we can also trim the 30 hrs considerably at least I hope so!!!!

Tony here is another version where we would pick up the a27 past chi. Comes in at 13 miles more and 1700 feet more but would probably be faster as there would be no traffic lights and junctions to contend with.
Ill start looking at the maths side of things now eg moving mph we would have to be going to hit certain targets.
We will get together soon to discuss further.

Sorry Dave. Unlikely to make full ride as its the weekend after our trip to the tour. Doubt Sue would like me to be away for another weekend. Will try and join you all for the last leg from Cosham, what are the hotel and return plans?

Fair enough mate. The plan is to stay in a Premier inn just outside Dover on the Saturday night then travel back on the sunday.
The bikes would go in the van and then we could either have friends or family there to meet us when we get there and then bring us back or get the train back.

Iwas going to book the van and the Hotel down in Cornwall but was going to suggest that those that come along from Cosham book the hotel themselves then could cater for family that would meet them down there then.

What i am looking for is people to commit if they can asap so i can plan a bit more then we have a definate amount of riders.
