Cingles du Mont Ventoux
After last nights club meet it appears that quite a few are interrested in this trip, both Cyclists and walkers, obviously all are most welcome.
I have secured, at a very reasonable price (Large consignment of red & white wine) a Mercedes Sprinter van to transport all of the bikes and some luggage, this will also take 3 people, me Sarah & Tel, we will drive down overnight, taking the Chunnel thursday evening 26th May and returning on the monday 30th May.
Hopefully we can recover on Friday and set up the bikes and take in a small ride, with the main assault on Sat or Sun if the weather plays up.
For those trying the 3 ascents this will be an early morning start, and will be aprox 130km, lights are required front and rear, led's will be ok.
For those who wish to just take on 1 climb, which is no mean feet then you can start a little later.
Please let me know who wishes to come along so that we can work travel/car details.
We will book the crossing for the sprinter, its up to the rest of you to inform us of who is going and details of cars etc. I don't mind booking these but need firm bookings of those wanting to go, we also need to finalise accommodation.
Names so far:
Tony
Sarah
Tel

Tim
Mike
Matt

One further item.
Please Tony and Sarah and book up early as the prices will go up steeply if you leave to last minute as this is a bank holiday weekend.

I'd definitely like to come! My car is not capable of making long journeys unfortunately ...in fact, it's barely capable of short journeys!

I'm definitely up for this one. Don't mind sharing some of the driving but I will need a good co-driver as I've never driven on the wrong side of the road! Oh and a good car!
Sorry I didn't make the pub last night - got caught in a torrential downpour on the way. Didn't fancy sitting there p*#*ed wet through

I definitely want to do this!!! Sign me up.
I'm happy to drive, should be able to take three people and three bikes but I will need to borrow a bike rack to do so.
Does anyone have a spare??

You said it m8, but the real nutters do the "bicinglette", so we'll save that for another day!
As I have said there is no need for bikes on cars cos I have a large white sprinter van to transport ALL the bikes and some luggage.
we hope you can make it

Re: Cingles du Mont Ventoux
Well Tel, that's you me and Tony booked on the Eurotunnel to Ventoux.... £89 return.
Catching the chunnel at 21.50 on 26th May returning 22.20 on the 30th May.
HTT you don't need a car as there are others taking a car that will need some company
People now need to decide exactly which cars are going, who they're prepared to let share the driving and sort insurance;
And whether you want to travel at the same time as us (overnight Thursday ) or travel out Friday morning.
Over to you....
